Getting ready for new school year: Settling in visits

Hello, lovely parents,
As we are getting ready for Preschool graduations, I can’t help but think about the children who are now signing up for the new school year. These could be babies as young as 8 weeks, toddlers, or even preschoolers.
I will start a new series discussing different ways you can prepare your child and yourself for this new, exciting chapter in your life.

Leaving your child in the care of strangers is very scary and stressful. So my first advice to you is, whichever school you choose for your child, make sure you visit that school with your child before their start date. Here at Happy Bunnies, we offer settling-in visits. These are completely free of charge, and it is an excellent opportunity for you, the parent, and your child to spend one hour inside the classroom. This is a great way to learn how the classroom works. It’s also an opportunity to talk to the teachers and get to know them, so they are no longer just a name but a person that you now know.

So, how do you know that the visit went well? It’s simple. Did you get all your questions answered? Do you feel more comfortable than you felt before the visit? Is your child leaving your side, and is he actually exploring the classroom with only occasional glances towards you? We would love to schedule another visit if the answer to these questions is no. There is no limit to how many visits you can ask for. We want you and your baby to be comfortable and know you are in good hands.
