This week our theme is Hearts and Stars! We have some fun and meaningful activities planned.
Each morning, we’ll begin our day by greeting every child by name and talking about hearts and stars. We’ll explore what makes a star look like a star and what makes a heart look like a heart. During circle time, children will even sit in a heart shape together!
In music, we’ll sing songs like “Stars and Stripes for Ever” to talk about love and kindness, and practice simple hand motions to go along with the words. We’ll also sing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and have fun using different voices — tiny voices for little stars and big, loud voices for giant stars!
We’ll play a shape game called “What Shape Is This?” where children will identify star and heart shapes. We’ll also introduce simple ASL signs for “heart,” “star,” and “I love you.”
It’s going to be a week full of singing, shape exploration, movement, and lots of love!
Thank you for being part of our classroom family!
