We were learning about farm animals along with the sounds they make. In this activity we had a farm animal bath where we got the animals dirty in the mud and then cleaned them off in the soapy water.
This was a great sensory activity for our littles and to make it even better the muddy mixture was edible! Made from chocolate pudding, yum. we identified the animals and the sounds they make through out the process all while having fun and getting dirty.
We entered various areas of learning such as social emotional by having our friends join together to interact and play. We also helped develop our language and communication skills by introducing new/familiar words and encouraging the children to repeat.
By letting the children explore the mixure they get to experience new textures, taste and smells just by simply playing. Some of small things we did also help to support cognitive learning like making the animal sounds so they can make the connection from animal to sound.we were learning about farm animals along with the sounds they make.
